Review of Great Falls, Virginia

expensive housing
Star Rating - 4/13/2007
We actually live in a small part of Great Falls that is located in
Loudoun County, but this comment actually applies to the bulk of the
area in Northern Virginia. Housing is quite expensive in this area,
so a family must take that into consideration when thinking about
relocating to Northern Virginia, or the Greater Washington, D.C.
Metro area, really. Yes, the jobs may be plentiful here, and the
pay may be higher, but it has to be, because the housing costs
are so very high. I have heard of many people who come to this
area and have "sticker shock", as the realtors call it, when they
realize that they had a single family home elsewhere on a nice piece
of land, in a nice neighborhood, and here, they can't even afford a
two bedroom townhouse in a marginal neighborhood. I would really
encourage those who are considering relocation to this area to really
look at the big picture, not just the high salary.
